A Dynamic Circularity Information Management Roadmap For Small and Medium Enterprises
With the escalating global concerns surrounding sustainability, the integration of green strategies has become imperative for businesses. While literature already discusses these concepts, there remains an absence of a clear roadmap tailored for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to translate circularity practices into tangible, value-driven data sets. SMEs encounter multiple challenges, including economic, social, and organizational obstacles, hindering their shift towards a Circular Economy Business Model. Compounding these challenges are diverse and sometimes ambiguous definitions of circularity, adding complexity to its adoption. This research addresses this existing gap by proposing a circularity information management roadmap designed for SMEs. The framework aims to guide these enterprises in navigating the complexities of the implementation of circular economy business models. The governance model introduced in this study utilizes circular practices to assess and enhance an organization's circular level. By providing clarity on circular practices and its implementation, this paper seeks to facilitate SMEs in adopting circular business models more effectively. The anticipated outcome is an quicker transition towards circularity, mitigating one of the biggest challenges faced by SMEs – the lack of clear guidelines.
