Cyber Risks and Investments. How Cybersecurity Perception Affects Investor Decision-Making.

Cyber risks increase as the world becomes increasingly connected. This subject has been attracting the attention of variable income investors who have aspects beyond the financial to make the decision to invest money in a company. The objective of this study is to propose a framework to be adopted by publicly traded companies and to evaluate how the perceived benefits of this framework affect investor decision-making. After applying a questionnaire to 104 people, structural equations were used to measure the results. The research showed that the benefits perceived by the cyber risk framework would explain in 32.4% the intention to invest in a company.
