Design and Implementation of A Well-Being Index For Knowledge Assessment

Due to their simplicity, meaning and representation, indexes are excellent communication tools. They have the ability for simplifying complex meas-urements. The fact that composite indexes allow for the division into several dimensions and associate weights to them makes their understanding easier. Their versatility justifies the increase of their use in many application fields. In the enormous spectrum of index application, well-being is one of the most potential application area, where indexes could be used for predicting the impact of programs and measures built taking into account the needs pre-sented by people, institutions or systems. Over time, indexes were applied to various other domains, such as health, social progression, economics or edu-cation. In this paper, we conceived and implemented a well-being index sys-tem for helping students and teachers in their learning and knowledge as-sessment processes, providing them personalized means for training and evaluating multidisciplinary knowledge based on student historical interac-tion with a specialized tutor system.
