The Key Role of A Language Teacher: Research and Classroom Projects To Protect The Language Teaching Discipline

The Language teaching discipline is an issue that might be a challenge for some schools in Colombia, since there exists a lack of exposure to language inside the classrooms. However, some policies have emerged in order to provide a better education in terms of foreign language teaching and learning. This article aims to recognize the practicum process as a way to protect the language teaching discipline from observation and direct contact with a certain school context. In this way, students form the bachelor degree in language teaching apply the main concepts and theories to carry out research and classroom projects in their pedagogical praxis.

In this respect, was carried out a detailed classification in the kind of research and classroom projects produced by students as the main source of information. The expected findings is to identify what methods, approaches and strategies teachers use to teach language and its impact on students' learning.
